Research Summary: Currently, there are two major research directions in the lab. The lab’s first research direction is focused on the molecular mechanisms of organ size control and tumorigenesis. For this direction, we are particularly interested in 1) Molecular mechanisms underlying upstream regulation of the Hippo signaling pathway; 2) Novel regulation of tissue growth in response to nutrient stress. In collaboration with Dr. Yulan Xiong at UConn Health, the lab’s second research direction is focused on the mechanisms underlying aging and neurodegenerative diseases, with a specific emphasis on Parkinson’s disease (PD). To accomplish these aims, the lab uses a combination of genetic, cell biology, molecular and biochemical approaches with various model systems including Drosophila, mice, and cell cultures.
We are currently seeking motivated graduate students and postdocs to join our team.
